Meet Det Heijnen - Medical secretary MET-LBS

24 January 2023

Welcome Det! It's great that you recently started as a Medical Secretary of the Mobile Expert Team Long-Term Disorders of Consciousness (MET-LBS). Tell us something about your background?

My background is multifaceted. I come from healthcare and retrained as a teacher later in life. In addition to this new position, I am currently working as a primary school teacher. In addition to teaching, I worked flexibly in the Maas Hospital as a department secretary until shortened.

Furthermore, do volunteer work; such as the planning of drivers and coordinators of the Wensbus within the municipality of Gennep and at the football club in Milsbeek.

Now that I have grown children, I can enjoy being a babysitter-grandmother to my grandson. Which I am very proud of. And if I have time left in addition to all this, I like to walk or read.

Why does this position within EENnacoma appeal to you?
I see the position at the MET-LBS as a challenge. I can contribute to a pilot. There is a diversity of what needs to be done, this makes it interesting. But also educational;  and looking for ways to get something new clear and successful.

At the same time, it is an awareness for me of how valuable this Team is and can be for many patients and their loved ones.

What are you looking forward to the most?
I especially enjoy searching and being able to organize information in order to set it up properly for this team. But of course also the fact that I can contribute to setting up a national expertise team for people with LBS and their loved ones.
