Traumatic Brain Injury Care Standard - Children and Young People

1 September 2016Introduction
A standard of care is a means to improve the quality of care for people with a chronic condition. This care standard describes what children and young people aged 0 to 26 years with traumatic brain injury (THL), their parents and other loved ones can expect in terms of care from the moment the brain injury occurs. It is a functional description: it is about what care should be provided at what time and in what way. The standard of care does not describe who provides the care. It is up to the regional parties, the municipalities and the health insurers to implement this.
