Region: Central Netherlands
Location: The Vineyard, Bosch and Dune
For whom?
- Bridging care, for patients with a long-term disorder of consciousness awaiting Early Intensive Neurorehabilitation (VIN as offered in the Leijpark, Libra Rehabilitation and Audiology, Tilburg), in particular patients with a tracheostomy tube. The goal is somatic optimization and diagnostics, pending the start of rehabilitation elsewhere.
- Long-term Intensive Neurorehabilitation (LIN), for patients with a long-term disorder of consciousness who require further rehabilitation after Early Intensive Neurorehabilitation in the Leijpark, up to a maximum of 24 months after the brain injury. The aim is to facilitate the recovery of consciousness, and to seek appropriate care elsewhere if recovery is not forthcoming.
- Residential care, for patients with a long-term disorder of consciousness or other residual symptoms after severe acquired brain injury. The goal is optimal well-being. Accolade goes with an accreditation for a DEC; this is not about residential care (REC)
Treatment and care
Accolade Zorg has more than 40 years of experience in caring for people with severe acquired brain injury and joined EENnacoma in May 2019. Bridging care and LIN are offered at the De Wijngaard location, in Bosch en Duin, 12 kilometers from Utrecht. In this natural environment, care is offered with a Christian signature, but patients and families with a different philosophy of life are also very welcome. The geriatric specialist is responsible for medical care and coordinates the multidisciplinary treatment, for which caregivers, nurses, physiotherapist, psychologist, dietician, music therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist and spiritual caregiver work together.
